“The Blind Side” actor visits with wounded military and their families in Bethesda, Maryland

Fairfax, VA (April 1st, 2013) – Far from the shining spotlight of Hollywood, America’s heroes are
recovering from their injuries in military hospitals all across the country. Though the wars may be
ending, these visible and invisible wounds will never end.

Cause, whose mission is to provide programs that promote relaxation, resiliency, and recreation to Iraq
& Afghanistan combat wounded, ill, and injured, were happy to welcome “The Blind Side” actor,
Quinton Aaron to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Saturday, March 24th, 2013.
During Mr. Aaron’s visit, he spent time with wounded services members and their families who were
with a military police unit out of Fort Bragg, NC. The service members recounted the day their injuries
occurred and shared how far they have come in their recovery. “Thank you for being here. It means a lot
to us,” shared one injured soldier. After spending a few hours talking, laughing, posing for pictures, and
signing autographs, Mr. Aaron made his way to visit the most severely wounded on the Wounded
Warrior floor of the hospital. Here, Mr. Aaron met with several US Army Special Forces soldiers who
were recently transported to Walter Reed after sustaining injuries on the battlefield. Despite severe
injuries, one soldier excitedly shared that he had just recently watched “The Blind Side” on television the
other day. Cause Program Coordinator Shannon Stinson said, “Having Quinton visit with these heroes
and their families means so much. It brings a little extra smile knowing that someone like him would
take time out of his busy schedule to spend a few moments with them.”
