Nancy Russo
This month we highlight Cause Volunteer, Nancy Russo.
Nancy began volunteering with Cause almost two years ago at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in D.C. Since then, she was promoted to the Thursday Night team for the Cause Volunteer Massage Program. Twice a month, Nancy helps schedule volunteers to give massages and reiki treatments to those recovering at Walter Reed. Her efforts to help support our nation’s Heroes could easily be a full time job, but somehow Nancy always makes time to give back. When Nancy isn’t working full-time, coordinating the Cause volunteer massage program, or helping out at Cause Special events; she organizes “Girls Nights Out” for military spouses.
Nancy’s sparkling personality, and enthusiasm makes her the ideal Cause volunteer. Fellow volunteer, Jim Carboni, says, “Many stop in on Thursdays just to say “Hi” even if they don’t want a massage. Cause is lucky to have someone so gracious and kind.” Without a doubt, her warm smile and eagerness to listen, has helped lift the of spirit of hundreds of men and women participating in Cause programs. While Cause works to bring its programs to the “New” Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Nancy will volunteer at the Ft. Belvoir Massage and Reiki program.
